Dog Parks in Idaho: Off-Leash Areas From Boise to Coeur d'Alene

By Parks of Idaho · October 17, 2026

A park with a dog park inside solves the usual problem: the dog gets to run off-leash while the kids get a playground and the adults get a court or a trail. This list covers every park on Parks of Idaho with a dog park, grouped by area, with what else each one has.

Most of them are in Ada County, led by Boise and Kuna, with a cluster around Coeur d'Alene and a few more scattered across the state. The ones that pair the off-leash area with a creek, a trail or a splash pad are called out, so you can plan for the dog and the kids at once.

Boise's Big Parks

Ann Morrison Memorial Park covers nearly 145 acres on the Boise River, with the Greenbelt running past. Besides the dog park, it has ball fields, tennis, pickleball and volleyball courts, disc golf and a playground with swings and slides. Simplot Sports Complex is about the same size, nearly 146 acres of baseball and multi-use fields with a dog park, a walking trail and a playground with a merry-go-round.

For a stop with water, Molenaar Park has a dog park, a creek with fishing and a skate park on nearly 20 acres. Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex pairs its dog park with fishing, a skate park and a bike park on about 39 acres, and Optimist Youth Sports Complex adds fishing, a walking trail and tennis and pickleball courts on about 52 acres.

Boise Neighborhood Parks

Many of Boise's neighborhood parks put a dog park alongside a playground and courts. Phillippi Park fits one onto about 9 acres with horseshoes, tennis, pickleball, basketball and volleyball courts and a playground with a merry-go-round. Castle Hills Park has tennis, pickleball and basketball courts and a ball field on about 7 acres, and Manitou Park has the same mix of courts on about 9 acres by the Ridenbaugh Canal.

If you want water nearby, Mariposa Park has a creek with fishing on about 8 acres, Williams Park has a creek plus tennis and basketball courts, and Redwood Park has fishing and a playground with swings and slides. Cypress Park sits along the New York Canal with tennis and pickleball courts, and Morris Hill Park runs along the North Slough with horseshoes and a walking trail.

At Bowler Park, the dog park shares about 11 acres with a splash pad, a skate park, bocce, disc golf and a playground with a merry-go-round. Sunset Park has a ball field, a multi-use field and tennis and basketball courts on about 10 acres. Winstead Park has a multi-use field, a tennis court and a reservable pavilion on about 11 acres, and Pine Grove Park is about 4 acres with a basketball court and a playground with swings and slides.

Meridian and Eagle

Discovery Park in Meridian pairs its dog park with a splash pad, a skate park and a bike park on about 60 acres, so it works well when the kids come along. Storey Park, also called Storey Bark Park, has its dog park on about 19 acres along Ninemile Creek, with a ball field, a playground and horseshoes. In Eagle, Eagle Sports Complex has a dog park among about 58 acres of BMX track, skate park, street hockey and trails, including the Snoop Loop.

Kuna

Dog parks show up all over Kuna, and several come with water. Nicholson Park runs along Indian Creek with a beach, fishing and a sledding hill on about 6 acres, plus a playground. Sadie Creek Park has a beach and fishing too, on about 4 acres with a pavilion. Greenbelt Park follows Indian Creek for about 19 acres, with the Indian Creek Pathway, a skate park, a ball field and fishing.

Winchester Park adds fishing to its dog park and playground on about 6 acres, with a grill and picnic tables. The Farm Park and Arbor Ridge Park each pair a dog park with a playground and picnic tables, and Chapparosa Park has a sledding hill and open lawn by the Kuna Canal.

Coeur d'Alene and Hayden

McEuen Park is the one to plan around in Coeur d'Alene, with a dog park, a splash pad, a playground, a boat launch and tennis and pickleball courts on about 22 acres. Riverstone Park and Atlas Mill Park both connect to the North Idaho Centennial Trail too. Riverstone adds an amphitheater and a pavilion with grills, and Atlas Mill has a swimming beach and a kayak launch.

Cherry Hill Park packs a sledding hill, a BMX track and disc golf around its dog park on about 29 acres, and Northshire Park has courts for tennis, pickleball, basketball and volleyball on about 5 acres. In Hayden, Croffoot Park adds an RC track, a ball field and a playground on about 26 acres.

Elsewhere in Idaho

In Caldwell, Whittenberger Park has a dog park and a multi-use field on about 16.5 acres, with the Caldwell Greenbelt running by. Over in Rexburg, Rexburg Nature Park pairs its dog park with a skate park, disc golf and walking and bike trails on nearly 28 acres.

Sherman Park in Victor is the big one in this group, nearly 54 acres with a rodeo arena, a bike park, disc golf and an ice rink. Island Park sits on the Salmon River with a boat ramp and a skate park, and Clearwater Park in Lewiston has a pond for fishing.

If the kids are coming too, Bowler, Discovery and McEuen all pair a dog park with a splash pad and a playground. For a long walk afterward, the Greenbelt runs past Ann Morrison and the Centennial Trail runs along Riverstone.
